HULU SELANGOR – Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) manifesto for Kuala Kubu Baharu is still a secret and will be launched “at the right time”, coalition deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said.

Unfazed by the fact that the unity government candidate had already launched hers, he said a later launch of PN’s manifesto was part of its strategy.

“We will announce when the time comes. What is clear however, is that we are offering voters here a local candidate who is qualified, capable and who understands local problems,” he told reporters after an event to mobilise PN women campaigners in Batang Kali, here, today.

Faizal was asked about PN’s manifesto for Kuala Kubu Baharu, which goes to the polls next Saturday, after DAP-Pakatan Harapan candidate Pang Sock Tao launched hers last night.

“We each have a strategy. PN has a strategy for its candidates.

“For PH, when their candidate enters a Malay village, she wears a headscarf. That’s their strategy.

“Our strategy is that we will announce our manifesto when we feel the time is right,” he said.

Pang, 31, last night said her manifesto included developing Kuala Kubu Baharu’s economic and tourism potential to make the state seat a weekend destination for domestic tourists.

PN meanwhile, has been relying on Khairul Azhari’s local pedigree as the 54-year-old was born and bred in the area in addition to being a former Hulu Selangor municipal councillor and Hulu Selangor Bersatu acting division chief. – May 4, 2024
