Cops looking for witnesses of fiery PJ crash involving two cars, one motorbike

Accident sees one of the drivers hitting a traffic light before colliding with two other vehicles, causing Honda Accord, Yamaha Lagenda to catch on fire

KUALA LUMPUR – Police are looking for witnesses to an accident involving two cars and a motorcycle at a traffic light intersection in Jalan Othman, Petaling Jaya this morning. 

In the 6.59am incident, a car driven by a 56-year-old local woman hit the traffic light before colliding with another car and a motorcycle coming from the direction of Jalan Templer, said Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Jaafar in a statement.

The collision caused a Honda Accord car and a Yamaha Legenda motorcycle to catch fire at the scene. 

The 53-year-old motorcyclist, who was severely injured in the accident, has been admitted to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for further treatment, said Shahrulnizam. 

He called for witnesses to report to the nearest police station or directly contact assistant traffic investigating officer Saiful Hassan at 011-21942572 to assist in investigations. 

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – May 11, 2024
