Maybank app users urge quick fix to Tabung service disruption

Bank’s social media has been flooded with complaints over feature being inaccessible

KUALA LUMPUR – The inaccessible Tabung function on Maybank’s mobile app has caused concern among users who are worried about their funds.

Users who tried to access it will get a message saying: “Sorry, Tabung is unavailable now.” 

In response to complaints, Maybank posted on X: “Rest assured, we are working closely to rectify this issue and it will be back to normal soon. We would appreciate your kind patience and cooperation.” 

However, Maybank’s social media platforms have been inundated with complaints.

“What is this Maybank? I’m used to using MAE but now there’s a problem. Please fix it immediately,” said X user Izzatie.

“Maybank, ‘jangan buat hal’. This is my emergency savings, which I’ve saved up while working,” added X user Elin. 

The Tabung feature in the mobile banking app works as a digital savings account, which allows monthly automatic deduction or manual deduction from a Maybank user’s debit account. – May 11, 2024
