KUALA LUMPUR – Repair works on the Putrajaya MRT line have been completed, after over an hour of service disruption earlier due to communication system issues.

In its latest update, RapidKL said services would resume soon as train frequencies were being regulated to run at normal intervals.

The alternative train services to cater to passengers during the earlier disruption have also ceased, although shuttle bus services will continue until the end of operations tonight, RapidKL added in its statement.

Following the disruption earlier, intermediate bus services were activated from the Chan Sow Lin station to Putrajaya Sentral.

Alternative trains were also activated for a short period between the Kwasa Damansara and Chan Sow Lin stations.

RapidKL had also advised passengers who wished to cancel their travel to get one-way travel coupons at customer service counters, which must be used within five days.

Earlier on social media, passengers affected by the disruption complained that they had been waiting for 15 to 20 minutes at each stop without any information on the reasons for the delay.

Many also expressed frustration at the frequent problems affecting this particular MRT line since its opening in March last year.

In October last year, the Putrajaya line faced technical issues, where the coaches had to be driven manually due to a switch malfunction.

The same route faced a power outage on November 14, leading to Transport Minister Anthony Loke instructing Prasarana Malaysia Bhd to submit a report about the incident.

The Putrajaya line began fully operating on March 16, 2023, connecting Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya. – May 31, 2024
