KUALA LUMPUR – Air Selangor has announced that asset maintenance and replacement work at Sg Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant commenced today at 9am, according to the schedule previously announced in May.

The maintenance efforts are set to conclude by 7pm today.

Following the completion of the works, supply restoration will begin in stages, starting at about 3am on Thursday, once the main water supply distribution system is stabilised.

Water supply recovery in the affected areas is expected to reach approximately 20% by 3pm on Thursday and 90% by 3am on Friday.

Full recovery is expected by 12pm on Friday, June 7.

“For your information, the duration of this water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure at the distribution system,” Air Selangor said.

Air Selangor will be deploying water tankers to critical locations such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres, and funeral service centres.

Additionally, alternative water supply assistance will be available at 13 local service centres.

For commercial customers, water can be purchased at Air Selangor’s customer service counters across all regions.

Commercial customers with their own water tanks can access water from four local water filling stations located at Braemar Estate in the Hulu Langat region, Taman Gemilang Dengkil and Pekan Salak in the Sepang region, and Taman Banting Baru in the Kuala Langat region.

“Air Selangor has also conducted a briefing session with elected representatives for the affected areas yesterday to ensure a smooth process in providing water supply for consumers.”

For ongoing updates regarding this scheduled water supply disruption, consumers are encouraged to check Air Selangor’s official communication channels at https://waterupdates.airselangor.com/.

Information is also available through the Air Selangor app, its Facebook, Instagram or X accounts, or by calling Air Selangor’s Call Centre at 15300. – June 5, 2024
