The North Face bids farewell to Malaysia with 60% clearance sale

Beloved outdoor brand announces closure of its seven retail outlets, leaving fans saddened, with many expressing their feelings on social media

KUALA LUMPUR – US-based clothing company The North Face has announced the closure of seven of its retail outlets in Malaysia, marking its farewell with a final round of sales.

The North Face, a cherished brand among outdoor enthusiasts, announced on Instagram the closure of their outlets and is offering a storewide 60% discount on all items before ceasing operations permanently.

“It’s your last chance to drop by our stores for our final round of sales before we say goodbye. As a parting gift, enjoy 60% off EVERYTHING in-stores now.” 

“Stock up while you can and plan ahead for those winter year-end trips!” it said in the announcement on Instagram.

The sale includes a wide range of products essential for outdoor activities, such as camping gear like tents and sleeping bags, outdoor jackets suitable for various climates, sturdy hiking shoes, and various other essential outdoor items.

The announcement today also noted that these outlets, located in well-known Malaysian shopping malls, will remain operational for the next five days before closing down.

The outlets slated for closure include those within The Exchange TRX, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Damansara Heights, The Gardens Mall, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, LaLaport BBCC, and the Johor Premium Outlets.

The North Face has not provided details regarding the reasons for its closure, some of The North Face’s consumers have aired their grievances, as the brand has been a staple for many decades. 

Netizens swiftly shared their reactions to the news, expressing sadness over the brand’s exit from Malaysia.

User @missmelissawafa reacted to the post with “close for good? WHY” showing how much the brand will be missed in Malaysia.

Another user, @iam_mabelle, replied to the post with “Nooooo! Are all North Face/Salomon/ Bratpack closing down for good in all of Malaysia?”
