GOMBAK – The mother of deceased influencer Rajeswary Appahu has lodged a police report against three TikTok users, including controversial preacher Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu, accusing them of continuing to insult her daughter despite her death a week ago.

R. Pushpa, visibly heartbroken, said the string of online bullying has not stopped since her daughter’s death, despite warnings issued by national leaders and police.

“I have had two heart attacks, and I feel like dying myself,” she told reporters at the Gombak district police headquarters after lodging the report.

“They said they do not want to cause any issues, but they are still doing livestreams doing just that. I feel like killing myself too.”

She claimed the individuals behind these livestreams included Zamri and policewoman Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, also known as Inspector Sheila.

Pushpa arrived at the police station at 6pm, and spent two hours lodging her report. 

During a TikTok livestream last night, Zamri tried refuting his alleged role in the cyberbullying of Rajeswary.

Separately, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said today that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed serious dissatisfaction over the recent incidents. 

Anwar also instructed both the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and police to take stern action and stop the prevalence of cyberbullying, Fahmi added. 

Recently, police arrested two individuals suspected of cyberbullying Rajeswary under Section 506 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the MCMC Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. 

She was found dead in her home on July 5, reportedly after facing a month of online bullying.

Authorities confirmed that two TikTok accounts were involved in making vulgar and threatening remarks towards her – @dulal_brotherss and @alphaquinnsha.

Before her death, Rajeswary lodged a report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters, detailing the violent threats made against her.  

She reported that a TikTok account with the handle @dulal_brotherss hosted a livestream on June 30 with around 700 viewers, during which participants made rape and death threats against her. – July 12, 2024
