KUALA LUMPUR – An odour pollution incident at Sg Kundang and Sg Sembah has led to the temporary shutdown of four water treatment plants and unscheduled water disruptions in several areas.
In a statement today, Air Selangor Sdn Bhd said the four water treatment plants affected are Rantau Panjang, Sg Selangor Phase 1, Sg Selangor Phase 2, and Sg Selangor Phase 3.
Following the temporary shutdown at these four water treatment plants, seven regions covered by Air Selangor – Petaling Jaya, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor – have been hit with water supply disruptions.

Noting that it is undertaking efforts to minimise the impact on users, Air Selangor said alternative aid through lorry tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas.
“Priority will be given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres, and funeral processes during this period of unscheduled water supply disruption.”
