Police lance corporal to be charged with Nur Farah Kartini’s murder tomorrow

26-year-old suspect was arrested and remanded following discovery of victim’s body in oil palm plantation on July 15

KUALA LUMPUR – A 26-year-old policeman will be charged tomorrow with the murder of former Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris student Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan told Scoop that the suspect, who is placed under remand until July 29, will be brought to the Kuala Kubu Baharu magistrates’ court in the morning.

“We will bring the suspect to court to be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.”

Yesterday, Hussein said the investigation paper on the murder case was near completion after the police concluded the search for evidence.

Nur Farah Kartini, 25, was reported missing on July 10 before her body was found in an oil palm plantation in Kg Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, at about 6pm on July 15.

Following that, the 26-year-old lance corporal was arrested.

The remains of Nur Farah Kartini were buried at the Kg Nyiur Manis Cemetery, Pekan in Pahang on July 18. – July 25, 2024
