Singer Nidza Afham missing after jogging in Klang

His family recovered 23-year-old's wallet, phone near a bridge

KUALA LUMPUR – Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, a 23-year-old singer known by his stage name Nidza Afham, has been reported missing by his family after going for a jog last night.

According to his younger sister, Aufahanie, 21, Nidza left for his jog at the Sultan Suleiman Stadium in Klang at approximately 7.58pm.

Concerns arose when Nidza’s girlfriend, Miera, was unable to reach him around 11:53 pm, as he had stopped responding to her calls. The family then went to his last known location at the Sg. Klang bridge at approximately 1.50am, where they discovered only his wallet and phone.

Aufahanie noted that Nidza’s wallet was missing his ATM card and had no cash. A check of his phone revealed no signs of disputes or involvement with loan sharks. She also confirmed that he had completed his 3 km running goal.

In a post on X, Aufahanie pleaded with the public for help in finding her brother.

“Assalamualaikum, Never thought I would do this, but I need the help of fellow Malaysians. My brother, Nidza Afham is missing.

“His last known location was on the Klang River bridge (beside the new bridge) where we found his phone and wallet. He went jogging at 7.58pm (indrive) to Stadium Klang,” she posted.

The family has checked with nearby mosques, hospitals, and clinics, but no information about Nidza has surfaced. A police report was filed around 4 am, but the authorities have yet to provide any updates.

As of press time, the family is still searching for Nidza and remains hopeful for his safe return.

Nidza Afham gained recognition for his participation in Season 3 of I Can See Your Voice Malaysia in 2020. He is also known for his song covers on YouTube, including a rendition of “Rindu Setengah Mati,” which has garnered 6.5 million views, and has released a single titled “Ternyata Bukan Aku.” – August 14, 2024.
