KUALA LUMPUR – A man in Semenyih was injured after being stabbed by a friend during a dispute over a loaned motorcycle that had not been returned.

Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said that police received information about the 23-year-old youth being stabbed in an apartment at 2.51pm.

The victim was rushed to Kajang Hospital for treatment, he added.

“The investigation revealed that the altercation started from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspect, who had failed to return the motorcycle loaned to him by the victim last month.

“The suspect went to the victim’s sister’s home, where an argument broke out. The suspect, after being scolded by the victim, took a knife from the kitchen and chased the man, injuring him,” he said in a statement.

Naazron said a medical examination revealed that the victim sustained three stab wounds to the lower back and one to the left shoulder.

“However, the victim is conscious and in stable condition. He is currently being treated at Kajang Hospital for further care,” he added.

He said that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which carries a punishment of up to 10 years in prison, a fine, whipping, or any combination of these penalties upon conviction.

“The suspect is currently being sought to assist with the investigation.

“Kajang police urge anyone with information related to the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect is encouraged to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer Mohamad Faeez Norzah at 013-2773407 to aid in the investigation,” he added. – August 18, 2024
