KUALA LUMPUR – The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) media and strategic communications director, Rozaid Abdul Rahman, died today aged 59 following heart complications.
The PMO announced that he had passed away at his home in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.
Rozaid was admitted for treatment at Serdang Hospital on July 1 and was discharged on August 6.
He had served in his post in the PMO since May 23 last year.
According to The Star, where Rozaid had worked as a journalist previously, his last position at the paper was as its group senior consulting editor.
He was also previously group editor of Sinar Harian. His foray into journalism began as a cadet reporter for Utusan Malaysia in 1984.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil meanwhile, paid tribute to Rozaid in a Facebook post.
“He was dedicated and committed to his duties. He was friendly and helpful and highly respected by everyone.
