Four Vietnamese airports to suspend operations as Typhoon Trami approaches

Regional airport authorities have also been tasked with closely monitoring safety measures

KUALA LUMPUR – Four airports in Vietnam are set to temporarily halt operations due to Typhoon Trami, following a directive from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

According to Vietnam News Agency (VNA), the CAAV has announced closures at Phu Bai International Airport from 6 am to 10 pm on Oct 27, Da Nang International Airport from 6 am on Oct 27 to 4 am on Oct 28, Dong Hoi Airport from 6 am to 7 pm on Oct 27, and Chu Lai Airport from 10 am on Oct 27 to 10 am on Oct 28.

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation has been instructed to ensure safety protocols are in place and to issue timely notifications to relevant agencies. Regional airport authorities have also been tasked with closely monitoring safety measures.

The CAAV has requested that any arising issues during the suspension be reported immediately for necessary adjustments. – October 27, 2024
