KUALA LUMPUR – FashionValet Sdn Bhd (FashionValet) founders Datin Vivy Yusof and her husband Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar were present at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya to provide statements.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that their appearance was to assist in investigations into substantial investment losses by Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) in FashionValet. 

According to Azam, they were among six individuals whose statements were recorded, as reported by Berita Harian. 

Yesterday, MACC retrieved several documents related to investments in FashionValet from various locations. 

It is understood that this was done simultaneously at the Finance Ministry, Khazanah, PNB, and FashionValet’s headquarters in Bangsar. 

Azam confirmed this development, stating that financial documents were collected following raids on the four premises. 

In a recent written parliamentary response, the Finance Ministry revealed that Khazanah and PNB had sold their RM47 million stake for only RM3.1 million, sparking public outrage as it involved public funds. 

The Finance Ministry explained that this sale represented a responsible exit by Khazanah and PNB from FashionValet to a strategic investor. 

“The amount lost from the sale of FashionValet shares is minimal compared to the overall revenue generated by Khazanah and PNB in the relevant year,” the ministry stated. – November 5, 2024
