Maksim Mrvica to dazzle KL with pre-Valentine’s concert

World-renowned pianist will bring his captivating classical crossover performance to Kuala Lumpur on February 12, featuring a full orchestra and a repertoire of iconic pieces

6:09 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR — Renowned classical crossover pianist Maksim Mrvica will perform in Kuala Lumpur on February 12 next year at the Mega Star Arena, delivering a pre-Valentine’s Day musical treat.

The highly anticipated ‘Maksim World Tour: Segmenti’ promises an enchanting evening with a full orchestra, starting at 8.30 pm.

In a statement, organiser Lo-Fi Entertainment revealed that Maksim will perform original compositions and pieces from his latest album, Segmenti.

Fans can expect innovative renditions of hits by Abba and Queen, alongside classical masterpieces by Chopin, Prokofiev, and Tchaikovsky.

“Maksim is renowned for his ability to play up to 16 notes per second. His iconic performances include Croatian Rhapsody, Flight of the Bumblebee, and themes from Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones, and Mission Impossible,” the statement read.

Born in Šibenik, Croatia, Maksim began playing piano at nine and continued his musical journey despite the wartime challenges of his youth.

Classically trained at the Zagreb Academy of Music, the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, and the Russian Conservatory Alexander Scriabin in Paris, he has gained international acclaim for blending classical music with contemporary styles.

Tickets for this extraordinary performance go on sale on December 12 at 12 pm via www.ticketingtix.com. Prices range from RM188 (CAT 4) to RM888 (VIP). — December 6, 2024
