KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Federal Territory Health Department has refuted allegations of misconduct by a senior Health Ministry officer, which surfaced in a viral social media message.
Following a “detailed investigation,” the department confirmed that the officer in question had received treatment at the Putrajaya Hospital’s Emergency Department on January 4.
“However, the assertions made in the online message are baseless. The narrative appears intended to tarnish the good name and credibility of the officer involved,” the department said in a statement today.
The controversy began with a widely circulated message purportedly penned by a “most disappointed senior MO (medical officer).” The writer accused the senior officer of causing unnecessary disruption, claiming the individual had thrown the Emergency Department into disarray.
The message alleged that the officer had demanded a meeting with the department chief, forcing hospital management to “drop everything” to address “baseless complaints,” supposedly over dissatisfaction at not being treated as a “VVIP.”
“How can the Health Ministry hope to progress when those entrusted to uphold policies such as ‘no backdoor access’ and ‘no VVIP treatment’ are the very ones blatantly disregarding them?” the writer questioned, claiming the message had first circulated on Telegram.
“Instead of addressing the genuine concerns of our overburdened doctors and medical staff, time and resources are wasted indulging the whims of an entitled ‘little Napoleon,’” the writer continued.
“It is a disgrace, made worse by the fact that junior staffers are now facing reprimands for failing to recognise her ‘status,’” the message claimed, attributing the official’s actions to “systematic failures and misplaced priorities” in government institutions.

Meanwhile, the health department highlighted that the Health Ministry encourages all feedback, including complaints, commendations, and suggestions, to be submitted through the Public Complaints Bureau (SisPAA). The system is accessible at https://moh.spab.gov.my/.
“The SisPAA platform operates independently and does not report to the Health Director-General or state health departments. Complaints are processed according to established procedures,” the department added. – January 13, 2025
