Stop further talks on addendum order, respect legal process: Pahang sultan

Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah says matter is under the jurisdiction of responsible parties, calls for all to ‘avoid creating confusion or unnecessary debates’

8:45 AM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah, has called for all parties to cease further discussions regarding the addendum order, emphasising that the matter is currently under legal process and should be handled by the appropriate authorities.

In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Pahang Sultanate, His Royal Highness stressed the importance of respecting due process and avoiding unnecessary speculation.

“Regarding the addendum decree, this matter falls under the jurisdiction of the responsible and trustworthy parties. Therefore, all parties must respect the established processes and laws.

“Avoid creating confusion or unnecessary debates,” he said at the Pahang Bermunajat Raja Berdaulat gathering at the Sultan Ahmad 1 State Mosque in Kuantan yesterday, according to the post.

The former Yang di-Pertuan Agong also further urged the public to uphold core values in addressing issues.

“I urge everyone to uphold values of honesty, trust, mutual respect, and openness in resolving any issues,” he said, calling for calm and cooperation in ensuring that the matter is dealt with appropriately.

Al-Sultan Abdullah was accompanied by his sons Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah and Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu’adzam Shah.

Also present at the event was Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

The sultan’s remarks come amid ongoing public discourse surrounding the addendum order relating to the house detention of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, with various quarters voicing their opinions on the matter, including in the Dewan Rakyat. – February 28, 2025
