Putrajaya gives RM500 Hari Raya aid to Terengganu civil servants

Finance Ministry says this follows Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to the opposition state on March 21

KUALA LUMPUR  — The federal government is giving RM500 aid to Terengganu civil servants for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the Finance Ministry said.

In a statement, the ministry said this would benefit 14,000 civil servants in the opposition state, and would be channeled to them before Hari Raya.

“This is a follow-up from the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, to Terengganu on March 21.

“The Madani Government has agreed to fund a special Aidilfitri financial assistance for Terengganu civil servants,” the ministry said.

It added that this showed the government’s commitment to the principle of equity in addition to showing appreciation for the dedicated work of public official in the state.

Terengganu is an opposition state under PAS.

The Finance Ministry’s allocation at RM500 each for 14,000 civil servants would involve an allocation of RM7 million. – March 24, 2025
