Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal announces date after sighting of the moon

KUALA LUMPUR – Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Aidilfitri tomorrow.

The announcement was made by the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, this evening.

“To fulfil the command of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, after being consented by Their Majesties the rulers, I hereby declare that the date of Aidilfitri for all states of Malaysia has been set for Monday, March 31, 2025,” he said.

The announcement of the Eid al-Fitr date was broadcast through a local television channel,
and was made after the sighting of the moon.

The sighting of the moon took pplace at 29 official locations nationwide, including Bukit Melawati and Bukit Jugra in Selangor; Baitul Hilal Bangunan Sultan Ismail in Johor; Kampung Pulau Sayak and Alor Setar Tower in Kedah; and KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur. – March 30, 2025
