KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) has reached a significant milestone in its diversification strategy with the launch of a production facility for Fortune 500 company Jabil Circuit Sdn. Bhd., located in the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) in Perlis.
The facility was officially inaugurated today by the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, accompanied by Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra — signifying the project’s importance in boosting the economic and industrial development of Perlis.
In his speech, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin said the investment in this facility would create high-quality jobs, foster skill development, and drive technological advancement, all of which will benefit the people of Perlis and the surrounding areas.
“This facility represents not only the commitment to excellence by Jabil but also the potential for further industrial development in CVIA. What we see here today is not just a building, but a symbol of growth, opportunity, and progress.
“It is the result of careful planning, vision, and a shared commitment to developing a sustainable and thriving economy for our state,” said Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin.
At the same time, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin added that as the first foreign investor in CVIA, Jabil was setting a strong example for others to follow, and it was a clear demonstration that Perlis was a place where businesses can flourish, innovate, and grow.

“We are creating the right environment for industry to thrive, with the necessary infrastructure, workforce, and strategic location to attract further investments.
“I am confident that the successful operation of this plant will not only benefit Jabil but will also have a far-reaching positive impact on the community. The skilled jobs and opportunities that will be created here will uplift our people, foster talent, and contribute to the growth of our state’s economy,” said Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin.
The Perlis Ruler said the construction of this manufacturing plant began in 2022 and that he was delighted to see the collaborative efforts of all parties involved and to see its completion in 2024, culminating in this significant day of its opening.
“From the very beginning, we have seen a strong partnership involving the Perlis government, NCIA, MRCB, and Jabil.
“The state government, through the State Economic Planning Division, and the federal government through the NCIA, has been closely monitoring the progress of the project, ensuring that it adheres to the highest standards and contributes to the growth of Perlis,” said Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin.

His Royal Highness said a series of open interviews had been conducted since last year for the first recruitment process and knows that Jabil has also prioritized the locals of Perlis in their direct hiring, and he applauds them for this.
Meanwhile, MRCB has invested in 9.70 acres of land that will be developed into a custom-built industrial facility, significantly contributing to the industrial growth of Perlis.
This launch represents a major advancement in MRCB’s strategy to broaden its focus beyond traditional property development. The company is actively seeking opportunities for diversification in various fields, including industrial development, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
This facility, owned and developed by MRCB, strengthens the Group’s role not just as a developer but also as a long-term owner of industrial assets. Spanning 101,059 sq. ft., it will play a crucial role in Jabil’s expanding operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
The facility is designed to accommodate Jabil’s future needs, featuring capabilities such as Final Assembly, Test and Pack (FATP), full mechanical assembly, printed circuit board assembly, and custom configurations.

Jabil has leased the facility from MRCB for ten years, with an option to extend for another five years, highlighting the long-term vision and commitment of both parties in this partnership.
This project marks MRCB’s entry into the industrial property market, showcasing its strategic effort to diversify its portfolio. Drawing on its extensive experience in specialised commercial developments like Menara Shell at KL Sentral and Menara Celcom at PJ Sentral, MRCB is now applying its skills to the industrial sector, as demonstrated by this project.
Importantly, this initiative underscores MRCB’s strong collaboration with the Perlis State Government to advance the CVIA’s aim of becoming a sustainable, high-tech industrial hub.
As CVIA develops into a driver of regional economic growth, this project aligns with Malaysia’s broader sustainability goals, promising advanced technological solutions, job creation, and long-term socio-economic benefits for Perlis. – April 7, 2025
