KUALA LUMPUR – The case of the homemade bomb found under prominent lawyer Siti Kasim’s vehicle is suspected to be attempted homicide, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

He said the police are actively tracking the suspect via fingerprint identification and other related evidence.

“The bomb’s discovery is a serious crime, and the threat is akin to attempted murder,” he was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.

“Further investigations will be conducted by the Kuala Lumpur police contingent.”

Razaudin added that the police take aggressive action in their investigations, and will not allow the perpetrator to run free.

He also asked the public against forming speculations that could obstruct investigations regarding the case.

On Friday, Siti Kasim posted on Facebook claiming that a bomb-like object was placed under her car, after discovering it at a service centre.

Subsequently, Brickfields district police chief Amihizam Shukor confirmed that the object was an improvised explosive device, based on investigations by the bomb squad. – July 24, 2023
