KUALA LUMPUR – Internet sensation Uncle Roger, whose real name is Nigel Ng, has baited his fans with pictures of his new squeeze on Instagram.
In a post, the comedian shared a series of photos of his recent trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, showcasing the local food and scenery, and a little more.
In between the shots, lies a few picturesque images of him with a mysterious woman with long hair.
An image shows the couple from behind, dressed in neutral colours and overlooking some greenery while holding hands.
However, the fried rice-loving chef did not share photos of his companion’s face – only that her name was Sabrina.
Nonetheless, netizens were quick to welcome Sabrina as the “Auntie” in his life.
“Is that our new aunty?” asked user @kanjeng_delin, whose comment garnered more than 3,800 likes and 12 replies as of press time.
User @justb_rowse comically said Auntie Helen was “punching air right now”.
Meanwhile, user @cheayee2411 said Ng’s podcast fans would know that Sabrina was not someone new, as the comedian had been in a relationship for a year.
Previously, Ng revealed that he was a divorcee, and the character of Auntie Helen is often referred to as his ex-wife, and often used as his punchlines.
Kuala Lumpur-born Ng is known for his middle-aged Asian alter ego Uncle Roger, who also speaks in an exaggerated accent and criticises people’s attempts at cooking Asian dishes, especially fried rice.
Uncle Roger shot to fame after critiquing chef Hersha Patel’s BBC Food video of her cooking a “disappointing” egg fried rice.
He also advocates for the use of monosodium glutamate, or MSG. – January 5, 2024
