KUALA LUMPUR – Grab Malaysia has come on board as the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) latest partner, ahead of the 2023 Asian Cup campaign in Qatar from January 12 to February 10.
Today, FAM officially announced Grab as not only its e-hailing partner but also the designated food delivery provider at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya.
FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin expressed his optimism about the collaboration, highlighting its potential impact on the national football squad’s representation on the global stage.
“Our vision at FAM is a shared vision, not only with the football supporters of the country but also with our sponsors.
“With the presence of Grab Malaysia, it will give an injection of enthusiasm to the coaching staff and players in the 2023 Asian Cup campaign in Qatar.
“Hopefully, this collaboration will lead both organisations towards success,” he said.
Meanwhile, Grab managing director Adelene Foo has said the company is proud of being recognised as the official e-hailing and food delivery partner for the Malaysia national football team, the Harimau Malaya.
“Every time the Harimau Malaya compete in the international arena, the whole country will stand behind the national team, and Grab will also be supporting the same ideals,” she said.
Through this partnership, Grab aims to seamlessly manage the daily needs of the national football team, allowing them to fully concentrate on their performance.
“In supporting the journey of the Harimau Malaya, we also celebrate unity through football, together with millions of Malaysians,” she added.
The agreement was formalised with the signing ceremony, where FAM secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman and Grab operations and mobility director Rashid Shukor put pen to paper.
The event was witnessed by FAM deputy president Datuk S. Sivasundaram and Grab commercial and delivery director Tan Jiong Jian. – December 28, 2023
