SHAH ALAM – Tickets are flying off the shelves for the week-long Badminton Asia Team Championships 2024 (BATC 2024) that starts on February 13 at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC).

In a statement today, organisers revealed that fans have the opportunity to witness the continental badminton showdown live, with tickets available in three categories.

Premier 1 category tickets for day one, day two or day three are priced at RM75 each, while the combo three-day pass (day one to day three) is available for RM200.

For those eyeing the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final matches, Premier II category tickets are available at prices ranging from RM110 to RM200.

Die-hard enthusiasts looking to catch all the action from day one to day six can secure the championship all-day pass for RM580.

Tickets can be purchased at https://selbatc2024.com

A total of 26 teams, featuring 15 men and 11 women, are set to showcase their prowess.

Renowned names such as former world champion Loh Kean Yew of Singapore, Hong Kong’s Angus Ng Ka Long, India’s men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Chetty, Japan’s Kento Momota, and South Korea’s Seo Seung-jae will be in action.

Host Malaysia, eager to bounce back from last month’s Malaysia Open disappointments, boasts a strong line-up led by Lee Zii Jia.

Notable local names in the men’s competition include Ng Tze Yong and the top doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, along with Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin.

Malaysia’s men’s team finds themselves in Group B alongside Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, and Brunei, while the women’s team is placed in Group Y with Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

BATC stands as one of the premier badminton events sanctioned by Badminton Asia, the governing body for badminton in Asia, representing 43 member associations across five sub-regions.

This marks the third time the championships are hosted in Malaysia, following Kedah in 2018 and Selangor in 2022. – February 1, 2024
