Raft of new signings set to spearhead Elephants’ top-three push

KUALA LUMPUR – Sri Pahang FC are impressed with the commitment and trust shown by their new signings regarding the club’s objectives and direction for the coming Super League season.

The club aim to finish in the top three this season and are currently on a player signing spree. 

Their recent signings include Sean Selvaraj, T. Saravanan, Adam Nor Azlin, Serbian centre-back Aleksandar Cvetkovic, Kuvondik Ruziev from Uzbekistan and Manuel Hidalgo from Argentina.

Under the guidance of head coach Fandi Ahmad and team manager Datuk Dollah Salleh, the Elephants have also witnessed key players such as Sherzod Fayziev, Kevin Ingreso, Michael Glassock, Rafael Silva and Nicholas Swirad ending their services with the club.

Speaking to Scoop, Sri Pahang FC’s chief executive Datuk Mohammed Suffian Awang said the commitment and trust shown by the players towards the management would propel the club to greater heights in the long run.

“The new signings have shown a lot of progress since joining the club over the past few months. We have not been overspending; we spend according to the budget allocated for this season.

“But most importantly, we acquire players who believe in the process and direction of the club, and players who can adapt to our system for the long term.

“The players have shown a lot of commitment, evident in their daily training to reach their peak performance.

“Senior players like Sergio Aguero have welcomed our new signings warmly. Some players are still recovering from injury, but overall, the team atmosphere has been really good. We aim to maintain this positivity and trust among us and excel in the Super League this season,” Suffian stated when contacted.

Last season, Pahang finished fifth in the Super League with 46 points. – April 6, 2024
