KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor football club will not stay silent in their pursuit to find the culprit behind the attack on their player, Faisal Halim, today.

Faisal, who is a key player for the Selangor team, was attacked with acid while spending time with his family at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

The vicious attack left Faisal with skin injuries across various parts of his body, and his clothing was also damaged by the corrosive effects of the acid.

In a strongly worded statement issued moments ago, Selangor FC pledged full cooperation with law enforcement authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.

“It is with regret that Selangor FC player Faisal Halim has become a victim of an acid attack this evening.

“Selangor FC takes this matter seriously and will cooperate with the Royal Malaysia Police and the authorities to conduct a detailed investigation to identify those involved.

Selangor FC calls on football fans across the country to pray for and provide moral support to Faisal Halim and his family, and to respect his and his family’s privacy at this time,” said Selangor.

At present, The Red Giants squad is preparing to face the Southern giants, Johor Darul Ta’zim, for the Charity Shield match to be held at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, on May 10. – May 5, 2024
