KUALA LUMPUR – The Selangor police have initiated an investigation into the acid attack incident involving national footballer Faisal Halim.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed today that the incident took place at a prominent shopping mall in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
“At approximately 5.51pm today, the Petaling Jaya police received information from a member of the public who called the Malaysian Emergency Response Services hotline, 999, reporting that a national football player had been the victim of an acid attack at a leading shopping mall in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
“The victim is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Petaling Jaya, and his condition is described as stable,” Hussein said.
The motive behind the attack and the identity of the perpetrator(s) remain unknown at this time.
However, authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to step forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

Earlier, it was reported that Faisal, also known as Mickey, was attacked with acid at a mall while enjoying a family outing and a game of go-kart.
