‘Chery’ on top for national Paris Olympic medalists

Chery Malaysia pledges to award gold, silver, bronze medallists with luxurious SUVs as token of appreciation for their dedication, achievement

KUALA LUMPUR – National athletes who successfully bring home a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be rewarded with sports utility vehicles (SUVs) from China’s automotive brand, Chery, announced Chery Malaysia president Leo Chen.

The announcement was made during a collaboration signing ceremony between Chery Malaysia and the National Sports Council (NSC) today to motivate and appreciate the efforts of Malaysian athletes.

“We know they have put in the hard work and long hours of training for the games. We have high hopes that Malaysia will achieve the coveted gold medal that the nation has been eyeing this year. 

“To the Malaysian contingent, know that Chery Malaysia will be cheering you on every step of the way,” said Chen during the ceremony.

The rewards include a Tiggo 8 Pro SUV for gold medalists, an Omoda E5 for silver medalists, and a Tiggo 7 Pro for bronze medalists.

NSC director-general Abdul Rashid Yaakub expressed hope that this news will spur the athletes to give their best and make the country proud at the Games, scheduled from July 26 to August 11. – June 19, 2024
