KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has expressed his anger towards the Malaysian Football League (MFL) for imposing unreasonable punishments on the Selangor FC team.

His majesty also expressed his disappointment towards Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, for not taking a serious stance on the issue involving the attack on Selangor striker Faisal Halim.

Faisal was splashed with acid on May 5, resulting in fourth-degree burns.

In a press release issued by Istana Alam Shah in Klang today, the sultan condemned the RM100,000 fine imposed on Selangor FC by MFL for their absence from the Charity Shield match on May 10, calling it excessively harsh.
