The reveal, highlighted in a social media post yesterday, featured para-swimmer Muhammad Imaan Aiman and boccia athlete Abdul Razzaq Abdul Rahman modelling the new attire.

The ensemble is predominantly white, accented with vibrant splashes of blue, yellow, and red, representing the Malaysian flag, Jalur Gemilang.

The jacket boasts a dynamic pattern of these colours, creating a modern and energetic look.

Complementing the outfit, Aiman and Razzaq also sport matching bucket hats and backpacks adorned with blue and white stripes and the Malaysian flag, adding a cohesive touch to the design.

Malaysians took to social media to express their admiration for the design, with many calling it “clean and fresh.”

A user on X, @Rajvinderjeets, commented, “A design that I can get behind. It’s easy on the eyes.”

Meanwhile, @fahmieow sent his best wishes to the contingent, hoping they bring home gold medals for the country: “The outfits of our Paralympic athletes are beautiful. I hope they can bring home the gold medal for Malaysia. Good luck, guys.”

Another user, @wiwishah, remarked, “Very lit! Those of us who just look at this feel proud and enthusiastic, let alone the athletes who wear it.”

The outfit was launched by PCM president Datuk Seri Megat D Shahriman Zaharudin at the Malaysia Paralympic Sports Excellence Centre in Kampung Pandan.

“The wait is over!” the PCM announced on social media.

“Fresh from the oven, we’re excited to unveil our official leisure outfit for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

“We are proud of the designs that embody strength, resilience, and style. Please show your support and celebrate their journey with us.”

At the launch, Shahriman set a target of four gold medals for the Games, scheduled from August 28 to September 8, with expected victories in powerlifting, badminton, athletics, and boccia.

He also introduced First Admiral (rtd) Datuk Subramaniam Raman Nair as the Paralympic contingent’s Chef de Mission.

Subramaniam announced that another four athletes – three from powerlifting and one from para-cycling – are anticipated to join the 25 who have already qualified for Paris. – July 10, 2024
