KUALA LUMPUR – The National Press Club (NPC) annual golf event is set to take an exciting turn this year, with the presence of Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

This marks the first time a royal couple will be participating in an event organised by the NPC.

In previous editions, the guest of honor was typically either the Prime Minister or the Deputy Prime Minister.

Scheduled for November 26 at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, the tournament is expected to draw 120 participants.

In a statement, NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said that this year’s golf event is significant as it marks the return of the tournament after a seven-year hiatus.

Ahirudin also said that the golf event is aimed at fostering stronger ties between the NPC, the government, corporate sectors, and the media.

“In past years, the NPC organised this golf event annually. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to put it on hold. With the pandemic behind us, we are excited to revive this tradition,” said Ahirudin.

“We hope to see a diverse range of participants, including cabinet ministers, foreign dignitaries, captains of industry, senior editors, journalists, and other professionals,” he added.

The 2024 NPC Golf Tournament will feature three categories: Men’s, Ladies’, and Seniors’, with the Senior category open to golfers aged 65 and above.

Participants can look forward to a range of prizes, including lucky draws, and each will receive a goodie bag.

Registration forms are now available at the NPC clubhouse at 84, Jalan Tangsi, Off Jalan Parlimen, or by contacting 012-632 0061.

The entry fee is RM450 for NPC members and RM600 for non-members. – September 30, 2024
