Areas previously classified as “unhealthy” in air quality this morning have witnessed a marginal improvement in their Air Pollutant Index readings, although the majority still fall within this category.
Schools can opt to postpone outdoor activities, among others, as the country grapples with the worsening air quality, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
The air quality in Malaysia has deteriorated since this morning, with 11 areas marked as ‘dangerous’ on the Air Pollutant Index (API), especially for Johor’s Larkin, Melaka’s Bukit Rambai and Negri Sembilan’s Nilai.
Air quality in several parts of Selangor and Negri Sembilan today saw slight improvement compared to last night, but Cheras and Nilai remain at unhealthy levels as of 11am.
