Major banks have taken appropriate steps to waive transaction fees for micro and small businesses that accept payments via DuitNow QR, Bank Negara Malaysia said.
Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) will allocate resources to assist payment service providers in covering costs incurred from DuitNow QR payments, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The imposition of a transaction fee for payments made via DuitNow QR will be discussed in a special meeting of the National Action Council on Cost of Living this Tuesday, said Senator Fuziah Salleh.
Hong Leong Bank and Hong Leong Islamic Bank will continue to waive transaction fees and charges for all merchants accepting payments via DuitNow QR until further notice.
