Former director-general of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research, Datuk Khairil Anwar Abu Kassim, was sentenced today to a RM12,000 fine in lieu of four month’s jail for each of four charges of falsifying documents.
At the current rate, it looks like Malaysia won’t reach the ’50 by 30’ goal, a target set by the United Nations and adopted by the Transport Ministry to reduce road traffic fatalities by 50% by 2030 and beyond.
The former director-general of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research was charged in the sessions court here today on four counts of falsifying documents on the quotation of several vehicles for its collision tests.
