The cabinet has agreed that the scope of the Political Financing Bill be referred to the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on Human Rights, Elections and Institutional Reforms.
The past and present attorney-generals involved in parliamentary proceedings on the separation of functions between the AG and the public prosecutor’s office will not be “summoned” to provide their input.
The special select committee should be allowed to carry out its duty in separating the role of the public prosecutor from the attorney-general, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
