Datuk Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli, one of the prosecution’s star witnesses in the Penang undersea tunnel corruption trial against Lim Guan Eng, has admitted to borrowing RM2.3 million from one businessman and giving RM2 million to another.
A prosecution witness in Lim Guan Eng’s corruption trial whom the defence is seeking to impeach, became agitated in court today when pressed on media statements made earlier denying elements of corruption in the Penang undersea tunnel project.
The defence has applied for a copy of the main witness’ statement recorded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in connection with the investigation of a corruption case involving former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng and a businessman.
