A retired policemen is among the eight suspects wanted by police for alleged involvement in a major Sabah-based drug syndicate, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said.
11 individuals, including a businessman with a “Datuk” title, believed to be part of Sabah’s largest drug cartel have been brought to the Kota Kinabalu sessions court to face a slew of charges.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (Intelligence and Operation) deputy director Datuk Zainudin Ahmad said investigations into the syndicate, which evolved from contraband activities to becoming the largest drug network extending to the Philippines and Indonesia, have been concluded.
