The villagers in remote Kg Tangkarason in Beluran can breathe a sigh of relief after the Health Ministry approved RM361,600 for more medical assets and RM50,000 to repair their dilapidated hall that is serving as a makeshift clinic
The villagers of Kg Tangkarason, Beluran, are urgently seeking assistance as the makeshift health clinic in their village has significantly deteriorated in nearly three months since a devastating fire razed the Tangkarason Health Clinic in Beluran.
The Tangkarason healthcare clinic, which has temporarily relocated to a multipurpose hall after its permanent building was razed in a fire last week, is nowhere near adequate and lacks the necessary medical equipment to treat the inhabitants of the nearby villages.
In a statement today, Sabah Health director Datuk Dr Asits Sanna clarified that the circulated donation drive on social media was not endorsed by the department.
The Health Ministry, in a statement today, said the emergency procurement includes the replacement of equipment lost in the fire to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for residents in the area.
