It is challenging court’s dismissal of its bid to initiate judicial review against AG's decision to halt proceedings against DPM in Yayasan Akalbudi corruption case
The Court of Appeal has postponed hearing the prosecution’s appeal to reinstate 40 criminal charges against Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi involving the foreign visa system.
Zahid, who is also rural and regional development minister, said the Bar showed irrational behaviour in questioning the powers given to the AG who is acting as public prosecutor as the AG's decision cannot be challenged through a judicial review application.
Ambiga informed the court of the Bar’s intentions only after senior federal counsel Ahmad Hanir Hambaly on behalf of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) told the court at length his arguments as to why the judicial review application should not be granted leave.
